Extraction arm

A movable, pipe- or hood-shaped component of an extraction system for flexible guidance of the capture hood close to the welding point. Articulated designs allow smooth positioning.

Physical-Chemical Mechanism of Action

The extraction arm is a movable, tube- or hood-shaped component in an extraction system. It is used to flexibly guide the capture funnel close to the welding spot. The joint construction allows smooth positioning and adjustment of the arm position.

Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks

The extraction arm plays an important role in the effectiveness of extraction during welding. Incorrect positioning can lead to incomplete or uneven extraction, causing porosity and contamination in the workpiece. At the same time, correct positioning prevents dust and welding dirt from being drawn into the weld.

Workshop Practice & Instructions

To use the extraction arm effectively, position it so the capture funnel is directly over the weld spot. Align the joints so the arm moves smoothly and reaches the required position. Regularly check the arm for cracks or wear to ensure it continues to function properly.
