Absolute Eddy Current Probe

An absolute eddy current probe measures the absolute value of the magnetic flux through a measuring coil to determine material properties and material changes.

Physical-Chemical Mechanism of Action

An absolute eddy current probe uses a single measuring coil that directly measures the magnetic flux. This allows determining the absolute value of the magnetic field without being influenced by external magnetic fields.

Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks

Accurate measurement of magnetic flux is critical for monitoring material changes during the welding process. Incorrect values can lead to inaccurate material evaluations and increase the risk of cracks or failures.

Workshop Practice & Instructions

Use the absolute eddy current probe for continuous monitoring of magnetic flux during the weld. Make sure the measuring coil is correctly aligned and held at the optimal distance from the material. If you see unusual material changes or unclear readings, check the probe for correctness and calibrate it if needed.
