Adaptive Welding Parameter Control
Voltage and amperage during welding are continuously adjusted to changing root gaps or heat conditions to prevent burn-through and lack of penetration.
Physicochemical mechanism of action
Adaptive welding parameter control (ASPR) monitors voltage and current during welding. It reacts to changes in gap size or heat input conditions by adjusting parameters. This ensures an optimal weld with minimal defects.
Metallurgical relevance & risks when welding
Without ASPR, incomplete penetration or burn-through can occur, leading to cracks and loss of toughness. The control prevents these issues through continuous adjustment.
Shop practice & instructions
To use ASPR successfully, the welding machine must be calibrated to the correct settings. Constantly monitor voltage, current, and gap size. If any anomalies appear, adjust the parameters immediately.
