Agglomerated Flux

A welding flux produced by dry blending and subsequent sintering, allowing the easy incorporation of deoxidizers and alloying elements.

Agglomerated powder consists of fine particles sintered together into larger grains. This makes it more free-flowing and easier to dose than loose mixed powder.

When welding, you have to watch out: If the powder is damp or dirty, you'll get pores in the weld metal and the mechanical properties will suffer. It's important to store it dry and keep it clean before use.

In practice, you use it for alloying during TIG welding. You add it directly to the melt, but don't overdo the amount – too much powder makes the pool hard to control. Start with a little and increase until you get the desired result.
