Acoustic Emission Analysis for Crack Monitoring

Acoustic emission analysis monitors cracks by recording sound waves generated during deformation. This enables online detection of damage processes.

Physical-Chemical Mechanism

Acoustic emission analysis detects sound waves generated by sudden plastic deformation or crack propagation in the material. These waves are transient and can be recorded in real time.

Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks

The analysis allows early detection of cracks and damage before they become visible. This reduces the risk of hot cracking and increases component safety.

Workshop Practice & Action Items

Use acoustic emission analysis in critical weld zones where cracks are especially dangerous. Install sensors at suitable locations and monitor the data continuously. If anomalies occur, inform the team immediately.
