Alpha titanium alloy
A titanium alloy with a fully hexagonal structure at room temperature, offering superior weldability and creep resistance. It cannot be hardened through heat treatment.
Alpha titanium alloys have a pure alpha structure that cannot be transformed by heat treatment – there's no phase transition you can exploit. When welding, the part is generally easy to work with, but you have to control the cooling: cooling too fast makes the structure uneven and costs strength, cooling too slowly risks distortion and creep. So keep heat input controlled and let the part cool evenly after welding, then it'll be fine.
