Aluminum-Lithium Wrought Alloy

A high-strength aluminum alloy containing lithium that achieves significant weight reduction combined with an increased elastic modulus through targeted heat treatment.

Aluminum-lithium alloys are special materials known for their low density and high stiffness. When welding, you have to be careful because the alloy is hot-cracking sensitive and reacts sensitively to overheating. Make sure the surface is clean and the shielding gas is dry, otherwise you'll get pores in the weld metal. If you want to post-weld treat the seam, strictly follow the manufacturer's specifications, because incorrect heat treatment can degrade the structure and make the component brittle.
