Aluminum-Manganese Alloy

Aluminum-manganese alloys are metal alloys that combine aluminum with manganese and other additions like silicon or copper. They offer excellent corrosion resistance and formability.

Aluminum-manganese alloys are basically weldable, but you have to be careful not to overheat the alloy. Too much heat can coarsen the structure and ruin corrosion resistance. Best to weld with TIG and AC, that's closest. For filler, use matching wire that the manufacturer specifies for this alloy. Make sure the material is clean and dry before you start. Remove the oxide layer mechanically beforehand, otherwise you'll trap slag. If you control the heat and work clean, you'll get a decent part.
