Aluminum Solid Welding Wire

A solid wire matched to the base metal alloy for the MIG welding process of lightweight structures.

Aluminum solid wire isn't pure aluminum, there's always something added, usually silicon or titanium. This ensures the melt flows calmly and you don't get pores in the weld. If the alloy doesn't match, the weld becomes brittle or the surface looks like a washboard. For normal MIG welding on aluminum, use the wire that matches the base alloy. The wire must be stored clean and dry, otherwise you'll have trouble with the weld. The machine setting depends on the sheet thickness; best to work your way up.
