Aluminum Recrystallization Inhibition via Dispersoids

Blocking of grain and subgrain boundary motion in Aluminum through finely dispersed transition metal dispersoids like $\text{Al}_{20}\text{Cu}_2\text{Mn}_3$, stabilizing the grain structure.

Dispersoids are tiny, finely distributed particles in aluminum that block grain growth under heat. They pin the grain boundaries so the material doesn't recrystallize and soften during welding. Without them, you quickly lose strength in the heat-affected zone after welding. Too few do nothing, too many make the material brittle and crack-prone. So keep the heat input low and don't overheat the part unnecessarily, then the grain structure stays stable.
