Aluminum-silicon welding filler

A matching filler material with increased silicon content to lower the melting point and improve fluidity when welding cast alloys. It minimizes hot cracking tendencies in the weld metal.

AlSi filler metal is mainly used for aluminum casting. The silicon in the wire or rod binds oxygen and calms the melt, giving you fewer pores. Also, the puddle flows better and you have less trouble with hot cracking, especially on hard-to-weld material. But be careful not to add too much silicon to the weld. If you weld thick cast with lots of filler, the structure can become brittle and crack. Keep the weld pool small and clean, then it'll be fine.
