Temper Color Removal Brush
The heat tint removal brush is a rotating tool with stainless steel wire bristles that removes thermally induced oxide layers on welds. It improves the corrosion resistance and the optical quality of the weld.
Physical-Chemical Mechanism of Action
The heat tint removal brush uses mechanical force to remove thermally induced oxide layers from the surface of welds. The stainless steel wire bristles are hard and effective in this task.
Metallurgical Relevance & Risks in Welding
Removing oxide layers improves the corrosion resistance of the weld, as oxides can accelerate corrosion. However, over-processing or brushing too hard can damage the surface and cause cracks.
Workshop Practice & Instructions
Use the heat tint removal brush at a speed of 10,000 to 20,000 RPM. Press the wire lightly on the weld without applying too much force. The brushes should be maintained and inspected every 3 months.
