Anodic protection
Anodic corrosion protection creates a protective layer on the metal via power supply to prevent corrosion in strong acids.
Physico-Chemical Mechanism
Anodic corrosion protection (anode) creates a layer of unreactive material on the metal through current flow. This prevents the metal from coming into direct contact with the corrosive medium.
Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks
Incorrect application can lead to electrolytic connections and impair the effectiveness of corrosion protection. Excessive power supply can damage or alter the metal.
Workshop Practice & Procedures
Use the correct anode current (in mA/cm²) and regularly check the integrity of the protective layer. Pay attention to the correct electrolyte density and temperature.
