Anti-Spatter Release Agent
A chemical auxiliary in spray or paste form that prevents weld spatter from sticking to the base metal.
Anti-spatter spray prevents welding spatter from sticking firmly to the workpiece. Spray it thinly on the surface before welding – that's all. The spatter then remains as small beads and can be easily brushed or scraped off afterwards. Without this stuff, you have to grind the spatter off laboriously or chip it off with a chisel. Just make sure you don't apply it too thick, otherwise it can get into the weld and cause porosity.
