Anti-spatter release spray

Anti-spatter spray is a silicone-free auxiliary that is sprayed onto the sheet surface to prevent weld spatter from sticking.

Physico-chemical mechanism of action

Anti-spatter spray consists of chemical compounds that cause surface activation. These compounds form a thin layer on the sheet surface, preventing weld spatter from adhering.

Metallurgical relevance & risks when welding

Without the spray, weld spatter can stick to the sheet and cause cracks or deformations. This can impair the quality of the weld and contaminate the microstructure.

Workshop practice & instructions

Use anti-spatter spray before placing the sheet onto the torch. Spray the liquid evenly onto the surface, let it dry briefly, and then start welding.
