Respiratory Protection Filter Class P3

P3 is the highest respiratory filter class, retaining at least 99.95% of particles such as welding fume dust and aerosols. It protects against airborne hazardous substances.

Physicochemical Mechanism of Action

P3 filter discs are highly effective, filtering particles with a diameter of at least 0.1 µm. They use a fine grid of microfibers that allows air to pass through while trapping the smallest particles.

Metallurgical Relevance & Risks in Welding

Welding fume dusts and aerosols contain hazardous substances like carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, and metal salts. Without adequate respiratory protection, these substances can damage the lungs or lead to respiratory diseases. P3 filters protect the user from these dangers.

Workshop Practice & Instructions for Use

Use P3 filter discs in respirators when working with highly toxic substances or in environments with high particle levels. Replace the filters regularly according to the manufacturer's instructions or when they are clogged. Always wear a full respiratory protection when welding.
