Surfacing sequence

The build-up welding sequence is a predetermined welding order for components to weld specific materials or geometric shapes. It considers thermal constraints and ensures proper cladding.

Physical-Chemical Mechanism of Action

The build-up welding sequence determines the order in which components or workpieces are welded. This influences thermal stresses and prevents stress build-up in the material.

Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks

An incorrect welding sequence can lead to stress build-up, resulting in cracks or distortion. It can also result in certain materials not being properly clad, compromising their mechanical properties.

Workshop Practice & Action Instructions

Always follow the specified build-up welding sequence. Ensure all components are welded in the correct order. Monitor temperatures and stresses in the material to ensure proper cladding.
