Oxy-Fuel Gas Welding
A historical fusion welding process utilizing the combustion energy of an acetylene-oxygen mixture to heat the base and filler materials.
In oxy-fuel welding, you burn an acetylene-oxygen mixture; the flame brings the heat directly to the weld joint and melts the material. It's especially handy for thin sheets or when you don't have a power source available. But make sure you set the flame cleanly, otherwise you'll get a messy weld or burn the material. Keep the workpiece edges clean and grease-free, then the weld pool will run smoothly. With a bit of practice, you'll get a good feel for the right flame setting and speed.
