Automatic Tool Center Point Calibration Unit
The Automatic TCP Calibration Unit automatically measures the position of the wire end relative to the robot flange to compensate for wear and thermal deformation. This ensures the permanent accuracy of the path control.
Physical-Chemical Mechanism of Action
The TCP calibration unit uses sensors to measure the exact position of the wire end. These measurements take into account wear on the wire and thermal deformation of the tool or environment. The data is then used to adjust the path control.
Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks
Lack of calibration can lead to inaccurate paths, which can cause tool wear or an imperfect weld structure. This increases the risk of cracks and reduces tool life.
Workshop Practice & Instructions
Perform calibration at least once a day before starting to weld. Make sure all sensors are clean and correctly mounted. Use the specified values for calibration in the manual. If you notice unusual deformation or wear, perform an additional calibration.
