Autonomous Error Compensation

Autonomous error compensation is the ability of a robot to independently correct process errors by adjusting parameters. This increases the independence of the welding process and reduces manual rework effort.

Physical-Chemical Mechanism of Action

The robot system continuously monitors the welding process and detects anomalies. It reacts by adjusting welding parameters such as voltage, current, or travel speed to improve process efficiency.

Metallurgical Relevance & Risks in Welding

Autonomous error compensation can lead to better weld quality because it reacts and corrects immediately. However, faulty compensation behavior can also lead to undesired effects such as over- or under-treatment of the steel, which can affect strength.

Workshop Practice & Operating Instructions

To use autonomous error compensation successfully, the robots must be regularly calibrated and monitored. It is important that process parameters remain within a defined range. In case of anomalies, systems should be manually adjusted or the robot system repaired.
