Basic Welding Filler Metal

A welding consumable featuring a flux coating primarily composed of carbonates and fluorides, producing extremely low-hydrogen and tough weld metals.

Flux is an additive for the molten pool that makes the weld cleaner and prevents porosity. It binds oxygen and keeps the surface more fluid, so you get a smooth weld. If you use too much, the structure can become hard and cracky – so dose sparingly. Add the flux well dissolved and make sure the pool stays calm and even. If you have problems with cracks or hardness, reduce the amount and check that everything is well mixed.
