Illuminance

Illuminance is the luminous flux per unit area, measured in lux. It determines the visibility of surface defects and should be sufficient for precise inspections.

Physical-Chemical Mechanism of Action

Illuminance indicates how much light falls on a surface. It is measured in lux (lx). The higher the illuminance, the better the visibility of details and surface defects.

Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks

Missing or insufficient lighting can cause flaws, cracks, or other defects not to be visible. This can lead to malfunctions and safety risks in the product.

Workshop Practice & Instructions

For a precise inspection, at least 500 lux should be present on the surface being examined. If lighting is missing or insufficient, increase the light source to ensure all details are visible.
