Quality level B according to ISO 5817

Quality level B according to ISO 5817 defines stringent quality requirements for welds subjected to high mechanical loads with minimally permitted imperfections.

Quality level B according to ISO 5817 is the strictest of three levels and allows only very few, small irregularities in the weld – so hardly any pores, lack of fusion or undercut. You need B when the component is highly stressed or safety-relevant. The weld must be correspondingly clean and carefully welded to pass the inspection according to this level.
