Quality level C according to ISO 5817

Quality level C according to ISO 5817 establishes moderate quality requirements applicable to general static and dynamic structures in steel construction.

ISO 5817 defines assessment groups for irregularities in welds – for example pores, lack of fusion, or undercut. Group C is the middle of three levels: B is stricter and allows fewer defects, D is more lenient. Which group your component needs is specified in the drawing or the component standard. Then the weld is inspected and assigned to an assessment group.
