Lead

Lead is a soft heavy metal with a low melting point (327 °C). It is hazardous to health, accumulates in the body, and requires special care when working with it.

Lead is a soft, heavy metal that deforms easily. It's practically never welded - that's more for soldering, e.g., in batteries or radiation shielding. The problem is toxicity: fumes and dust are highly toxic and accumulate in the body. If you work with it, ensure proper extraction, wear gloves, and wash your hands thoroughly afterwards. For most soldering jobs, you'd better use lead-free solder nowadays.
