Filling powder for cast repair
A specifically formulated metal powder that compensates for defects in castings through thermal coating processes and ensures a machinable surface. It offsets graphite-induced disturbances in the weld deposit.
You apply the drill and fill powder into the defect by pressing it into the cavity with a sharp tool or drill. Then you weld the area using a suitable method so that the powder forms a solid bond with the base material. This is especially practical for castings with graphite disruptions or porosity, to reliably close cracks and holes. It is important that the defect is clean and completely filled with powder, otherwise the result won't be good. If you don't apply the powder properly, you'll get stresses and the part will crack again during welding. After welding, inspect the area for cracks and rework if necessary.
