Oxy-fuel preheating flame

A flame fueled by fuel gas and oxygen, guided continuously ahead of the actual cutting oxygen jet. It maintains the reaction temperature within the material.

The preheating flame in flame cutting has two tasks: it brings the steel to ignition temperature and keeps the cutting zone warm. This prevents the material from cooling too quickly and becoming hard or prone to cracking. Adjust the flame so that it preheats the workpiece evenly and sufficiently without melting the surface. Too much heat causes as much damage as too little. Move the flame calmly and controlled over the cutting edge, then the cutting process runs cleanly.
