Cladding Weld Seam Post-Processing
The mechanical or thermal smoothing of cladding layer transitions to minimize notch effects and ensure a streamlined surface in chemical apparatuses.
After welding, you have to finish the weld properly. Use a file or grinder to smooth the surface so there are no notches or uneven spots. This is especially important for chemically aggressive media, otherwise corrosion will start there and the part will leak. If you remove too much, you weaken the weld, so work calmly and controlled. If there's a heat treatment afterwards: don't overheat, or you'll lose the desired material properties.
