Cold Metal Transfer Welding Welding

A modified MSG process where wire movement is retracted synchronously with short-circuit current drops. It yields virtually spatter-free metal transfer with exceptionally low heat input.

In CMT welding, the system actively retracts the wire during the short circuit. This controls the droplet transfer and leaves almost no spatter. The whole process runs with low heat, which is ideal for thin sheets or when you need clean seams. Make sure the wire movement coordinates properly with the welding current. If the setting is off, the seam becomes irregular or the arc burns unstable. Set the system according to the manufacturer's specifications and try it on test pieces, then you'll quickly get a feel for the process.
