Computer-Aided Radioscopy

Computed radioscopy is a real-time X-ray inspection using digital image intensifiers and camera systems, monitoring moving or large test objects. It detects production defects directly in production.

Physicochemical Mechanism of Action

Computer-assisted radioscopy uses X-rays or gamma radiation to penetrate internal structures of materials and capture them as digital images. The images are processed and displayed in real time.

Metallurgical Relevance & Risks in Welding

This technique is particularly important for inspecting weld quality, especially in complex or hard-to-reach areas. Incorrect settings can lead to inaccurate images, which can cause misunderstandings and potential production defects.

Workshop Practice & Instructions

Use high resolution and appropriate radiation voltage for the specific material being inspected. Ensure that the camera system is continuously calibrated and that images are regularly reviewed. If defects are suspected, further investigation should be carried out immediately.
