Vapor phase deposition

A thermodynamic process in which atomic species from the gas phase condense directly onto a substrate to build up thin protective coatings.

Vapor phase deposition has nothing to do with welding itself. That's a surface engineering term, e.g., for coatings. If you have vapor or moisture in the weld zone during welding, it's simply a problem: it causes porosity in the weld and can lead to cracks. Just keep the weld area dry and clean, then you don't need to worry about any deposition.
