Diffusion Brazing
A thermal joining process where a high-temperature joint is formed through isothermal solidification driven by diffusion processes. This equalizes the chemical composition of the filler and base metal.
Diffusion brazing is a joining process where you treat the filler metal and the base material together under pressure and heat. The atoms migrate into each other until the chemical composition at the joint zone has equalized – that's called diffusion. This creates a homogeneous joint that works without a visible brazing seam. Make sure that temperature and holding time are really right. If you calculate too tightly there, diffusion won't start and the joint will be nothing – then you won't get a clean mixing and the part can tear in operation. The materials must chemically match each other, otherwise you won't get a usable joint.
