Vacuum Diffusion Bonding
Joining process under high pressure and elevated temperature in a vacuum, where interfacial diffusion processes lead to a pore-free metallurgical bond.
In vacuum diffusion welding, the material lies clean and without oxides against each other. Through pressure and heat, atoms migrate across the joint and form a cohesive connection without filler material. If pressure or temperature are not right, the bond remains incomplete and you get cold spots in the joint. Too much heat deforms the part or makes it bulge at the edges. Make sure the joint surfaces are really clean and flat, then welding will work. You have to keep an eye on the time under pressure and temperature, otherwise the seam will be nothing.
