Digital Flat Panel Radiography
Digital flat-panel radiography uses electronic detectors to capture X-ray images directly in digital form. This increases resolution and speeds up evaluation.
Physicochemical Mechanism of Action
The technique uses X-rays that pass through the material and are recorded by electronic detectors. Electrons are released in the detector and produce a digital signal buildup.
Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks
The high resolution allows precise detection of weaknesses, defects, or cracks. However, incorrect settings can lead to over- or under-sharp images, affecting diagnosis.
Workshop Practice & Action Instructions
Always use correct calibration and settings for the detector. Ensure adequate X-ray dose for sharp images. Save images in digital format for quick evaluation and archiving.
