Dynamic Path Acceleration
Dynamic path acceleration controls the speed of a robot at curve radii and welding position to ensure even deposition of weld metal.
Physicochemical Mechanism of Action
Dynamic path acceleration controls robot speed based on curve radii and position during welding. This ensures the weld metal is evenly deposited on the workpiece surface, regardless of the geometry being welded.
Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks
If the speed is not dynamically adjusted, the weld metal may not distribute evenly in tight curves. This leads to uneven weld beads and increases the likelihood of cracks or inconsistencies in the weld structure.
Workshop Practice & Instructions
To achieve optimal dynamic path acceleration, set the robot to slow down in tight curves and speed up on open surfaces. This can be done by adjusting speed profiles in the robot software. Typical settings are 10–50 cm/s for tight radii and up to 200 cm/s for open areas.
