Real-Time Seam Tracking
Real-time seam tracking monitors the weld during the process with sensors and corrects the robot path in real time. This ensures a precise joint.
Physical-Chemical Mechanism of Action
Real-time seam tracking uses sensors to continuously monitor the position of the weld seam. These sensors detect deviations and send corresponding signals to the robot, which adjusts its path.
Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks
An inaccurate joint can lead to porosity, cracks, or unevenness in the structure. Real-time seam tracking minimizes these risks through continuous monitoring and adjustment of the welding path.
Workshop Practice & Action Instructions
To use real-time seam tracking effectively, ensure the sensors are correctly calibrated and their range covers the seam. Set the welding speed so that the sensors have enough time to detect deviations and correct the robot path. A speed of 10-20 cm/s is often suitable.
