Endoscopic inspection
The optical inspection of hard-to-reach cavities and internal surfaces with special camera systems. It enables non-destructive internal diagnostics.
Physico-chemical mechanism of action
Endoscopic inspection uses optical probes and cameras to visualize internal surfaces and cavities. The camera sends light into the area to be examined and captures the reflections returned.
Metallurgical relevance & risks during welding
This method is especially important for checking weld quality, especially in complex components. It allows identifying pores, cracks, and other defects without mechanical harm to the material. Misuse or poor execution can lead to inaccurate results, which could endanger the safety of the components.
Workshop practice & instructions
Use high-quality endoscopes with high resolution and long reach. Make sure the light is sufficient to visualize the surfaces clearly. Document all found defects in detail. For complex inspections, additional support systems such as image analysis software can be helpful.
