Color Contrast Penetrant Process Control
The standardized monitoring of individual process steps during dye application for surface defect indication to ensure reproducible test results. It minimizes human error traces and optimizes wetting properties.
Dye penetrant testing is a non-destructive test method to make fine cracks and pores visible on the surface. You apply a red penetrant to the clean, dry part and let it sit briefly. Then you thoroughly remove the excess penetrant, spray on the white developer, and wait a short time. At crack locations, the red penetrant is drawn out of the crack into the developer and indicates the defect. It's important that the surface is free of grease beforehand, otherwise the test won't work.
