In-Process Inspection

In-process testing: control measures during welding production to detect deviations early and ensure quality.

Physical-Chemical Mechanism of Action

In-process testing involves monitoring and testing the welding process in real time. This can be done through visual inspection, measuring voltages, or temperature control.

Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks

Early detection of deviations such as porosity, unevenness, or incomplete fusion is critical. Unidentified problems can lead to cracks, failures, or a reduction in the service life of the weld joint.

Workshop Practice & Action Instructions

In the workshop, regular inspections should be carried out. This can be done, for example, by monitoring voltage readings (e.g., 100 N/mm²) or temperature control during the welding process. If deviations are detected, immediate correction should be made to ensure the quality of the weld joint.
