Gas-cooled burner lance
Gas-cooled torch hoses cool the torch head and nozzles via the shielding gas flow, reducing thermal stress and increasing service life.
Physical-chemical mechanism
The gas-cooled torch hose uses the shielding gas flow to cool the torch head and nozzles. The gas flow carries heat-removing material to the hot surface, lowering the temperature and reducing thermal stress.
Metallurgical relevance & risks in welding
Insufficient cooling can lead to overheating of the torch head, causing deformation, cracks, or even melting of the nozzle assembly. This can significantly reduce the service life and reliability of the hose.
Workshop practice & instructions
To ensure effective cooling, the shielding gas flow must be constantly monitored. The gas flow should be at least 10 l/min, and the torch head temperature should be checked regularly with an infrared sensor. If there are signs of overheating or irregular cooling, increase the shielding gas flow or inspect the torch.
