Shielding Gas Nozzle

The gas nozzle directs the shielding gas flow onto the weld spot, prevents atmospheric disturbances, and protects electrical components from heat.

Physicochemical Mechanism of Action

The gas nozzle guides the shielding gas in laminar flow to the weld spot. This prevents atmospheric air and dust from affecting the weld seam or causing contamination.

Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks

Without an effective gas nozzle, atmospheric oxygen can enter the weld zone, leading to corrosion and porosity. Additionally, thermal radiation can damage the nozzle material or harm the torch's electrical components.

Workshop Practice & Action Instructions

Make sure the gas nozzle is clean and undamaged. Regularly check gas flow and ensure there are no disturbances or contamination. If necessary, replace the nozzle with a new one.
