Cast Iron Welding Rod

A specialized nickel- or iron-base filler metal for cold or hot repair welding of cast iron.

The cast-iron welding rod is specifically for cast iron because it contains additives that bond well with the material. This gives you a stronger and tougher weld that doesn't crack easily. Make sure you don't overheat the rod, otherwise the structure becomes coarse and the weld brittle. If you introduce too much oxygen into the weld pool, you'll get pores and cracks. It's important to let the workpiece cool slowly after welding, then the weld will be clean and hold. Just work calmly and controlled, then it'll be fine.
