Brazing Working Temperature

The minimum temperature at the workpiece surface at which the brazing filler metal becomes liquid and spreads over the base material. It is always above 450 degrees Celsius.

The brazing working temperature is the temperature at which the filler metal melts reliably and flows cleanly into the joint gap. If you are below it, the filler metal won't flow and the joint won't work. But it must not get too hot either, otherwise you burn the filler metal or the base material suffers. You have to keep an eye on the temperature and stick to the filler metal manufacturer's specifications. You know the setting is right when the filler metal becomes liquid and draws into the gap by itself.
