Brazing

A thermal process for joining metals above 450 °C where a liquid filler metal (braze alloy) is drawn into the narrow joint gap by capillary forces. The base material does not melt during this process.

In brazing, only the filler metal melts, the base material stays solid. The liquid filler is drawn into the gap by capillary action and joins the parts cohesively. Make sure the gap is narrow enough, otherwise the filler won't draw in. The filler material must match the base material combination, otherwise the joint becomes brittle or uneven. And think beforehand whether the component can withstand the brazing temperature, otherwise you'll distort the part.
