Brazing Paste

Brazing paste is a pasty mixture of powdered filler metal and flux, used for automated brazing processes. It enables precise dosing at the joint.

Physical-chemical mechanism of action

Brazing paste consists of powdered filler metal and flux in a pasty carrier substance. The flux ensures liquefaction of the filler metal, while the powder influences structure and hardness.

Metallurgical relevance & risks when welding

The correct brazing paste improves brazing quality through precise dosing and uniform liquefaction of the filler metal. Wrong selection or missing application can lead to incomplete joint formation, porosity, or excessive hardness, impairing mechanical strength.

Workshop practice & instructions

Choose a brazing paste with the correct composition for the respective material. Ensure that the flux is activated and the paste is dosed correctly. Use automated brazing equipment to ensure consistent application.
