High-pressure water pump

A heavy-duty pressure generation unit, usually configured as a plunger or intensifier pump, compressing water to pressures exceeding 4000 bar for cutting. It is the core of the water jet system.

TIG is the method of choice here because you can control the heat precisely. The weld must be absolutely notch-free, otherwise you'll get a crack after a short service life. Make sure the material is spotless and properly prepared, then the weld will withstand the continuous load. If you're not sure about the material, get the specifications from the manufacturer before you start.
