High-Strength Welding Consumable

A specially alloyed consumable matched to the yield strengths of fine-grained structural steels, securing crack resistance under mechanical load. It compensates for strength losses in the weld metal.

High-strength filler materials introduce alloying elements into the weld pool that refine the grain structure and increase the strength of the weld. That works when the base material has to withstand high loads. But be careful: if you don't match the filler to the base material or don't control the heat input, you'll get a coarsened grain and porosity in the weld. Pay attention to the right mix and don't let the weld cool too quickly, otherwise the structure will become hard and crack-sensitive.
