Pulsed Arc Energy Balance
The ratio between the holding energy introduced in the base current and the peak energy released in the pulse current. A balanced ratio optimizes bead formation and prevents burn-through defects.
In pulse welding, you switch between a low background current and a high pulse current. The background current keeps the arc stable and the weld pool molten, while the pulse current melts the material and controls droplet transfer. If the ratio between the two isn't right, you get problems like lack of penetration or porosity in the weld. Set the values so that the arc burns smoothly and the material melts cleanly. The right setting depends on the material and joint geometry, you have to develop a feel for it.
