Pulsed Arc Current Regulation

The current regulation of the pulsed arc cyclically modulates the welding current between a low background level and a high pulse level to achieve a controlled, spatter-free single-drop transfer per pulse. This enables precise control of heat input in thin sheets and out-of-position welding.

With pulsed arc, the control regulates the current between a low base value and a high pulse value. This makes the material drip off in a controlled way and you get hardly any spatter. The advantage is that you can control the heat input well, which is especially important for thin sheets or positional welding. If you don't set the parameters properly, the weld will either not penetrate properly or you'll burn through the material. Set the base current so that the arc burns stably, and the pulse so that the material transfers cleanly – you'll get a feel for it over time.
