Inconel

A brand family of high-strength nickel-chromium alloys designed for extreme heat and corrosion resistance. They are widely deployed in aerospace and nuclear reactor applications under severe conditions.

Inconel is a nickel-chromium alloy with additions like molybdenum, niobium, or titanium. These make the material corrosion-resistant and heat-resistant. When welding, you absolutely must use the right filler material, otherwise the weld won't hold. If you don't control the parameters, you'll get cracks or stresses in the part. So use a nickel-base filler that matches the base alloy, and don't let the part cool too quickly after welding.
